Flower Ring

Here is my last card for tonight.  I made it for the Charisma Cards Challenge # 24 - White plus one other colour.

Flower Basket with Butterfly

Here is my card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge # 87 - the colours were slate blue, barn red and grey.

Miniature Fringed Flower Bouquet

This is a tiny bouquet of fringed flowers that I made the Just Us girls Challenge # 90 - Make a 3D project. I lvoe doing miniature quilling and so that you could see how really tiny it is, I added a ruler do show the size.  Hope you like it.

Get well Sunflowers

This card was made for the  One Stop Craft Challenge # 137 - "Get Well Soon"

I made this card for a friend to give to a colleague who was in the hospital.  She wanted something cheerful with flowers.  I made up this style of sunflower after seeing a stamp that used petals aligned like this.  I thought it was a really cute look.

Woof

I created this card for my friend's birthday.  She has 3 poodles so it just seemed to appropriate.  I am posting this card in response to the DT call for Our Creative Corner.  I would really love to be selected for this design team.  I think that quilling has been a somewhat neglected technique when it comes to cardmaking.  I think that quilling can really enhance a card, even it is only a little flower and I would love to have the opportunity to show quilling to more people.

I need to explain why this is my style.  Anyone who knows me knows I love to quill.  But if you look at my style of card making, it has really evolved over the last couple of years.  I used to do primarily quilling.  I just quilled something, maybe added some background paper and stuck it on the card.  But then I started using sketches and how I thought about my cards changed.  Now, I am much more likely to use a variety of techniques in a card.  And this is the case with this card.  I used quilling but I also used a sketch for the background.  The dog bones on the left are paper pieced and I used foam letters to write the "woof". Sometimes I do like to go back to pure quilling, but I think this card really epitomizes my current style.  In addition, I used bright colours which I love to do.  Finally, the theme is an animal, which is probably my preferred choice of image.  I hope you like it.

A Day At the Beach

I made this card for two challenges.  As any of you who follow my blog know, I love to quill and that was the main reason for this card.  The two challenges are:
1) Delightful Challenges "Fun in the Sun" challenge
2) Fab 'N Funky  Challenge # 78 - "Summer Loving"

Merry Christmas Robin

Here is another Christmas card.  It is made using the iris folding technique as well as some quilling and paper Piecing..  I made it for the Polkadoodles Challenge # 24 - Things with Wings.

Stars and Beads

Well, I can't believe I am starting on Christmas cards already, but since I will be having a big sale at my church in the fall, I thought I better get going.  So here is one of my new creations.  I made it for the Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge # 61.  The theme was make it sparkle.

For this card I suspended sparky sequin stars on silver wire along with some beads.  I love this technique because it isn't really difficult and yet it results in something that looks very complicated.

Flowering Branches

Well here it is.  My first card designed as a Dutch Dare Challenge Design Team Member.  The theme this week was clean and simple.  I am never completely certain what is meant by clean and simple, as different people seem to have different definitions.  But this card is my definition of clean and simple.

If you want to check out this challenge, and hopefully participate in it then head over using this link and take part.  Dutch Dare Card Challenge

It is a branch from a flowering tree.  The flowers are made from several layers of punched daisies topped with a tiny daisy rhinestone.  I hope you like it.

Thinking Flower

Here I am again with another card.  This is the card that I made for the Guest Designer Position on the Come and Get it Challenges.  I am really pleased that I was able to use quilling again on my card in combination with stamping.  I really believe that they are very complementary techniques.

I am also using this card as my challenge entry to two other challenges.  They are:
Going Grey with Scrap Creations - The theme this week was "anything goes"
Delightful Challenges - who also had an "anything goes" theme

#1 Dad

Here is my newest Father's Day Challenge.    I particularly want to thank Reece's Scrap Pieces of Stitchy Bear Designs for the lovely digital stamp image. I also want to thank Cabio Tse for the lovely little square embellishment on this card.  She taught a group of us how to colour with Copics and also gave us little goodie bags - this was one of the things inside and it worked so perfectly for this theme.  This card works for a number of challenges so here they are:
ABC Challenge W is for Wish
Delightful Challenges Father's Day Challenge
Fab 'N Funky Challenge # 76 - Magnificent Men
Colour Create Challenge # 72 - Purple, Blue and Silver with an optional extra of masculine/father's day
Polka Doodles Challenge Week 23 - Something for Dad
One Stop Craft Challenge # 135 - Father's Day
Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge # 59 - Father's Day
The Sweet Stop Challenge # 112 - sketch
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge # 115 - Dads or Grads
Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge # 93 - Father's Day

The Ant's Picnic

Well, here is another card that works for two challenges.  Darn, I didn't manage to get it to work for 4 different challenges.  I am breaking my own rule LOL.  Both of these challenges had the theme of "Summer" so I thought this was a good card for that theme.  What could be more summery than a picnic and what could be more ubiquitous at a picnic than ants!  I am sticking to my first love of quilling for this card. I wove paper to make the "blanket" and then made a border with quilling strips.  Then I quilled the ants and the little pieces of food they are carrying off.  I hope you like it.  The two challenges were:
1) Totally Papercrafts Challenge # 70
2) A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge # 155

Happy Birthday Snail

Here is the card I designed for my role as guest designer for the Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge.  I also designed it as part of an advertisement for a quilling class I will be teaching in Victoria BC in late June.  Before I show you the card, I want to show you the color swatch for this week's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge. Here it is:

You can find this challenge here: Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge

And "tada" here is my card.

Flowers Feed the Soul

Well, here I am again with another card.  Next week I will be having a sale of my cards, so hopefully that will be successful.  That is one of the reasons that I have been so diligently making cards. I apologize that the colours of this card don't show up as well as they could.  I had to photograph it at night in order to get some of the challenges posted

Anyway, this card was made for 6 different challenges.  They are:
1) The One Stop Craft Challenge # 134 - http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ - The theme for this week was texture and I added texture in several ways.  I embossed the green and the pink sections of the front of the card.  The white center section was already an embossed paper.  In addition, the pink paper I used for the vase is also embossed.  Finally, the flowers being 3D provided another level of texture.
2) Stampin' Sisters in Christ # 91 - http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/ - This week we were required to use some "new" on our card.  My new items are the carnation die from spellbinders and the vase sticker.  Both of these were purchased just this week.  How fortuitous!
3) The Dutch Dare Card Challenge # 115 - http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com - This was a photo inspiration and I used the colours and the flowers in the photo as the inspiration for my card
4) Play Date Cafe Challenge # 84 - http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/ - This was also a photo inspiration and oddly, the colours were very similar to the previous challenge.  So, that was my inspiration
5) Truly Scrupmtious # 58 - http://trulyscrumptiouschallenges.blogspot.com/ - The theme was "Summer Sparkle" and I used summery colours and some bling with the lovely vase sticker.
6) - The Card Positioning System Sketch # 221 - http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/

Lacey Trees

Here is my newest card.  I was having a hard time with this one.  I just couldn't seem to get an idea that worked.  I stamped so many different images that I have several for future challenges :) Anyway, this card works for 5 different challenges:
1) Cute Card Thursday # 167 - http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ - The theme was "Embellish It".  I did this by using lace, a button, baker's twine both as a wrap and as a bow, and glitter.
2) One Stop Craft Challenge # 133 - http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/  - The theme was "Buttons and Bows"
3) Sketch Saturday Challenge # 157 - http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/
4) Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge # 57 - http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/ - the challenge was to use Ivory and Lace on the card.
5) The Come and Get It Challenge - http://www.comeandgetitchallenges.blogspot.com/  - the challenge was to use the "Faux Linen" technique, which I did on the green background rectangle that is behind the focal image.

How Do I Wrap a Hole in One?

Here is my newest card.  I was primarily inspired by the great sentiment.  My dad was a passionate golfer, so I have made a few golf related cards in my day.  This one worked out for a total of 6 challenges.  I can hardly believe that.  They are:
1) Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge # 106 - http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/
2) Going Grey with Scrap=Creations - http://scrap-creations1.blogspot.com/ - This was a colour challenge and the colours were blue, green, and yellow
3) The ABC Challenge - http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/ - The team B V is for variety.  This required that you use at least 3 different embellishments.  My embellishments are: quilling, grommets, buttons, and a puffy sticker
4) Polka Doodles Week 21 Challenge - http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/ - this was a combination theme challenge and blog hop.  The theme was to make a male card and you were required to use something from the free download available on the Polka Doodles website.  I used two of the digital papers - the blue plaid and the yellow plaid
5) The Stamp TV Friday Challenge - http://stamptv.ning.com/ - the theme was to make a masculine birthday card
6) Simon Says Stamp Challenge - http://www.simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/ - the theme was to make a card for father's day or a card with a masculine theme.
